Forests at the Himalayan foothills

Wild grasslands, tea country and rivers running out of the hills.

The Dooars stretch across North Bengal below the Eastern Himalayas, where forests, grasslands, tea gardens and broad riverbeds create a completely different rhythm from the nearby hill towns. Each zone has its own character, so choosing the right base matters.

From EasyTripMate's base in Siliguri, we can coordinate the road journey, forest-area stays, local sightseeing and onward connections to Darjeeling, Kalimpong or Bhutan.

Frequently asked questions

Useful answers before you plan.

01How many days are enough for the Dooars?

Three to four days works well for one forest zone. Plan five to seven days when combining Gorumara, Jaldapara, Jayanti, Buxa or a hill extension.

02What is the best time to visit the Dooars?

Autumn through spring is generally popular for forest travel. Monsoon brings very lush scenery, but some wildlife areas and activities may close or operate differently.

03Are wildlife sightings guaranteed?

No. Wildlife moves freely and sightings depend on season, time, weather and chance. A safari is a nature experience, not a guaranteed animal encounter.

04Can EasyTripMate arrange pickup from NJP, Bagdogra or Siliguri?

Yes. We can coordinate a suitable vehicle from NJP, Bagdogra Airport or Siliguri and connect your forest stays and onward route.

05Can Dooars trips be customised?

Yes. The forest zone, trip length, stay category, vehicle, sightseeing pace and combinations with Darjeeling, Kalimpong or Bhutan can be adjusted.
